Delta gets spiked for summer, adds new beverage category for domestic flights

ATLANTA, USA — Just in time for spring break and summer vacations, BON & VIV Spiked Seltzer is coming soon to domestic Delta flights.

Beginning in March, customers in Delta One, Delta Premium Select, First Class and Delta Comfort+ can enjoy complimentary 12 oz. cans of premium BON & VIV, and Main Cabin customers can purchase theirs for $8. The zero-sugar, 90-calorie, gluten-free seltzer will be available in two delicious, natural flavors – grapefruit and lemon-lime.

“We have a keen focus on listening to customer feedback and innovating our food and beverage programs to provide more choice,” said Mike Crowley, vice president – On-Board Service Operations. “Spiked seltzer has been a fast-growing trend in the beverage industry, so we knew it was something our customers wanted.”

Key to Delta’s innovative approach to the food and beverage space is continuity between Delta Sky Club and onboard offerings. After a testing period earlier this year, domestic Delta Sky Clubs introduced BON & VIV to overwhelming positive feedback. Now, customers can enjoy the delicious, premium hard seltzers on the ground and in the air.

“These new beverage options are just one way we are honing our focus on the on-board beverage experience,” said Crowley.  “Customers can expect to see other new products and innovations including more proprietary mixers and elevated craft cocktail presentations throughout the year.”

As another enhancement to the on-board beverage program, customers have been enjoying a Delta’s new Cocktail of the Moment while on-board domestic flights over the past several months. Featuring fresh, seasonal flavors, Delta’s upcoming Cocktail of the Moment, the Lavender Sour, will be an additional beverage that domestic Delta One and Delta Premium Select customers can look forward to sipping this summer.

Enhancements to Delta’s beverage program are part of the airline’s multi-billion dollar investment in the overall customer experience. In the past several years, the airline has also made significant enhancements to the Main Cabin experience including the launch of its industry-leading international Main Cabin experience, free Main Cabin meals on select domestic coast-to-coast routes, free mobile messaging, free in-flight entertainment, upgraded Main Cabin snacks, the addition of sparkling wine, access to Wi-Fi on nearly all flights and refreshed Flight Fuel food-for-purchase options.

Recent upgrades to the Delta One in-flight experience include upgraded TUMI amenity kits, the introduction of seasonally rotating, chef-designed Delta One menus with the option to pre-select first choice of entree, an Alessi-designed collection of service ware and more.
