St Lucia: Holy Trinity Anglican Church strategic planning team announces the fourth in the series of lectures

By Caribbean News Global contributor

CASTRIES, St Lucia – Last week Saturday, June 5, we heard from Catherine Butcher (PhD) on the topic, “Governance, Transparency and Accountability for Strategic Planning”.

Butcher made the following conclusions: “The laws and regulations – provide a legal framework in ensuring good governance practices, transparency and accountability measures. However, Regulations alone will not solve all the challenges of the Church.

She asserts that the principle of accountability goes way back to the beginning of times.  “Accountability is the tool that God uses to make Christians better. The Bible admonishes the Church to “submit to each other out of respect for Christ” (Ephesians 5:21). There must be a commitment by the church at all levels to implement good governance, transparency, and accountability measures.

“There must be a collective will of parishioners, the leaders, to work towards the true purpose of the church which is to draw souls to Christ through your deeds and actions which would lead to expansion and growth of the church as God Commanded His disciples to “go out into the world and preach the gospel to all men”.

On Saturday, June 12, Embert Charles, a communications expert and the current president of the World Association for Christian Communication will speak on the topic, “Organisational Development and  Effective Communication in Strategic Planning”.
