UK Secretary of State for health and social care resigns

LONDON, England – The following is a letter from Matt Hancock MP to prime minister Boris Johnson announcing his resignation, and the prime minister’s response.

“ We owe it to the people who have sacrificed so much in this pandemic to be honest when we have let them down as I have done by breaching the guidance,” Hancock MP.

Prime minister Johnson’s response: “ I am sorry to receive it.”

In related news from the prime minister’s office, 10 Downing Street, June 26, 2021 – Sajid Javid MP was appointed Secretary of State for health and social care.

“The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of the Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP as Secretary of State for Health and Social Care,” the government said in a press release.
